Any ideas what I could buy for a friend (we fell out over Christmas). She is going through a really rough time at the moment with about just everything in her life. Not chocolates or flowers or beauty treatment but something inspirational and to show that she is loved despite our falling out last year? She came round today laden with Christmas gifts for the family. I felt a little awkward because I didn't give her anything in return but at least we are talking again.

Many thanks.

how much do you want to spend?
was that for next xmas? lol She is your friend and if a good one then you should be able to think of the perfect present xx
A home made voucher for a lunch for the two of you at somewhere of her choice.
Hi ruthandsam When my friend had a mastectomy and also when my neice had a transplant I bought lots of little things - some useful some silly - eg nail varnish book stress ball etc and wrapped them all seperately. I put them in a Boots bag like a prescription with the words on the out side - 1 to be taken every 24 hours or whenver you feel like sh**e.

It makes it a very personal present as you choose gifts that suit your friend - it will make her laugh and you can spend whatever you can afford - it worked for my friend and niece

About £20 bednobs.
I like the lunch voucher idea a lot. Thank you hc4361.

I really love that idea as well granny grump. Thank you!
That is what I value most from my friends - their time.
Perhaps you could give her an invitation to a lunch for 2 at your own home, where you could give her the lovely things Granny Grumps has suggested.

Depends on your cooking, though. lol
Just tell her you are taking her out for lunch, and you're paying.
Make her a beautiful card, and tell her you've missed her, and as others have said take her to lunch (with a hanky you'll both need one)
one of those experience things? try www.spaseekers.com, or get her a voucher at her local beauty salon for a massage, that should relax her
or get her a mobile reflexologist to come to her house and give her a treatment
or buy her cinema vouchers gift set for two
or just offer her to spend a day with you, take her for dinner, go and see a film or visit museum get her mind off things
We live at opposite ends of the country and when my sister-in-law had a mastectomy I was at a loss as to what I could get her - I bought her one of those Willow Angels, it was called "Thinking of you".
How about a nice book which she can keep - either a popular novel, or a nice book with photographs, about the countryside?
Send her a copy of 'High Fidelity' by Nick Hornby, and inscribe the flyleaf with the date, and something like "We're all only human, and we get it wrong sometimes ..."
This site looks pretty cool, stuff you wouldn't see about http://www.uncommongoods.com/
