body hair
7 Answers
This is quite embarrasing but I get quite a lot of excess body hair, especially around my chin and on my neck (which i fin dver weird). I dont have a full grown beard of anything but you can see it and I seem to spend most of my time getting rid of it. I know lots of women get it but I seem to have more then others. Does anyone know why this is and if there is anything you can take to stop it growing?

It is possible that excess hair may be to do with a hormonal imbalance caused by conditions such as polycystic ovaries. It is probably a good idea to go and have a blood test just to check. The pill dianette is sometimes prescribed to women with excess hair and may make a difference (you could ask your doc if its right for you- i was put on it to combat acne which can also be caused by hormonal imbalances). P.s- not recommending, just suggesting as i dont know what it might do as its v. strong (see earlier post)
Good luck xx
3Bis is right about the hormonal part as it certainly could be, i used to treat alot of indian/asian women back in the days of doing treatments with laser and electrolysis, you do have to have quite a few sessions to completely rid of the hair, but bleaching or waxing is also an option, waxing was the most popular form of hair removal i used to do and most women go every 3 weeks to have it removed this way. Electrolysis and laser can become expensive but it also depends on how much hair and how thick it is as to how quick it will recede and not come back. Maybe pop into your local salon and have a consultation with an expert it is not embarrasing and they take your all needs into consideration, make sure they are fully qualified, try the yellow pages or such like as if they advetise in there they are almost always legitimate. Good luck...
