Ow my days, i thought that it's really bad to have more than 1000 calories a day but just found out i should be having about 2000. that seems so much though. How many do you have in a day?
I doubt I reach 1000 even. I don't have breakfast at all, lunch is usually a round of wholemeal toast, then dinner is usually a ham and tomato sandwich and a piece of fruit.
As a male, aged 37 and losing weight, and doing lots of exercise I eat around 2000 calories a day. In the last 5 weeks this has enabled me to lose 18 lbs but healthily.
Gawd knows how many I use to consume in one day before my diet but I now have around 1400 as I'm trying to lose weight. So far I have lost nearly a stone.
And yes women should have around 2000 per day as they burn that amount each day if sedentary.
Think that it's meant to be 1500-2000 for women and more for men. But I think that's a load of rubbish. A woman of 4'10" and a tiny frame and a woman of 5'9" would require different amounts. In fact I think that calorie counting is rubbish. Best just to eat when you are hungry and only eat when you are hungry and eat the right sort of food and take plenty of exercise.
In BOO's case the right sort of food would be C A K E S!!
I don't know either. I eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. I eat what I like, but eat slowly so I don't eat too much. so it depends what I'm in the mood for, some days I might have 1500 and other days I might only have 1000
I used to have an eating disorder, and consumed about 100kcal a day.
When I was in recovery, I spoke to a nutritionist who told me that a person in a coma needs around 1200/1400kcal a day, just to keep the body alive (heart beating, breathing, other bodily functions)
I was really shocked by this, and try to keep the amount I eat above this. Although on a bad day I tend to really cut down...
Never count calories. Been there, done that. Never worked as weighing out everything is so boring.
Im on Slimming world diet which really suits me fine. I eat all the things which I like, I can have as much pasta, potatoes or rice as I can eat which is fine by me and lots of greens and fruit which I love.
Ive lost nearly 2 stone since Oct last year and feel great. Never feel hungry
2000 cals isnt much food if you eat the wrong foods.
you are eating too little which is putting your body into starvation mode so whenever it gets food it stores it and turns it to fat as it does not know when it is going to get enough. Explained to me many years ago when I was trying to control food intolerence problem by myself.
The trouble with eating a whole African elephant is that half an hour later you're dying for another one. Like Chinese takeaways, they're not very filling.
