To look properly for dresses for the weddings I'm going to I really need to know my body shape, but even after looking on a couple of websites, I'm still unsure . . .

This is the only half decent picture I can find that's on the computer that I can show you;[IMG]http://i51.tinypic.com/5js5c9.jpg[/I

But my measurements, just straight across at the widest/ thinnest part at the FRONT, NOT round my whole body for my shoulders is 42cm, for my waist is 30cm, for my hips is about 38cm, I hope that made sense.

Can't you just got to the shops, try some on and buy the one that you like best?
I think the way that you take your body measurements is around your body - chest, waist and hips. I wouldn`t worry about trying to find your body shape if I was you. Just go out and try lots of clothes on and see what suits you.

i thought you told you body shape more from it's shape as you look at it front and back rather than how 'deep' it is.

Fine, all the way around my shoulders is 108cm, around my waist is 32cm, and all the way around my hips is 104 cm.

They might not be that accurate as it was awkward to measure, by my shoulders are definately wider than my hips, by a noticeable difference.
I must be getting old. I only do measurements in inches. I don`t think your waist would be 32 cm! When I was your age my measurements were 35", 25" 35". As far as shape is concerned there are various theories dreamed up by fashionistas. Apple, Pear etc but at the end of the day what suits you, suits you and you will know that when you look in a mirror.
You need to find your dress size and then try things on to see if they suit you. Have you seen this (although they all look the same to me)?

Can I add if I was your mum I'd suggest e-mailing Ed to remove the piccy - it worries me as there are some not so nice people always surfing the net. Maybe I'm over worrying.
prudie, i agree re the picture, maybe a moderator will pick up the post.
That a very pretty dress you're wearing there, molls.

237sj, yeah, i mean 32" for the waist, sorry the tape I was using has inches one side and cm the other and it got twisted.

Prudie they're the kind of websites I've looked at and am confused by as i can't tell.

Thanks mrs.c.

But you can't see my face on it, that's why I edited it to show jsut my body shape.
Molly, don't be afraid to try on some dresses and ask the shop assistants what they think. I do it quite a lot if I am shopping on my own or with my bf (because the answer from him is always "yeah, it's nice"). They are usually quite honest and might suggest some other dresses for you and I think most of them quite enjoy getting involved rather then just standing at the door of the dressing room waiting for you to dump all the unwanted items back on them.
If it helps Molly....there are loads of beautiful floaty dresses around that would suit most body types... some are a bit short but teamed with lace tights and really pretty shoes would look very 'weddingy' if you have broad shoulders look for something with a v neckline or a soft drape rather than narrow straps that will make you look like an olympic swimmer...

Good suggestions you to- especially about the straps, what about a strapless dress? IMO the one in ym pic didn't look to bad, but i think when i had the shrug on like in the picture, that made my shoulders look bigger..
The one in the picture looks nice because it fits well and you have the shrug on top. Without the shrug it might look too shouldery. Rowans suggestions of a V line neck is good.

Plus I need something with support for my b00bs - they're probably an E now . . . (most my D bras don't fit properly anymore :( )
I'm sure you probably know this already but go to somewhere like M&S where they will fit you with a good bra that's not too pricey. If you find a dress first then take that with you and they will find one that works well with the dress. They've done that for me before.
Good bra, essential

there are some dresses around now with loose chiffon sleeves Select had a gorgeous apricot tunic dress in chiffon and the sleeve length would be quite flattering as it would show off bracelets etc girly is big right now...

I thought M&S only had expensive, old lady bras . . .

I have got a couple with removable straps that still fit me - I hope.
Your dress won't support your boobs. I'm an F cup so I know how important a good fitting bra is..
no M&S have some nice bra's and they offer a fittigns ervice, its worth it molly.
No way Molly! M&S do some sexy little numbers. Of course they do granny ones too but to be honest, you have a big bust and you need something that's going to give lots of support so the dress looks great. I need a strapless bra last year for a top that had odd straps but was quite low cut so she gave me a few to try that had a very thin joint between the cups and it was only about £12.00 and fitted perfectly. I jumped up and down a few times to test it. OK, so it wasn't exactly the sort of bra that would make the bf melt but it was perfect for the top.
