Why do people have their kids names/birthdates tattooed on themselves?

I can usually remember mine no problem

Maybe they should have tattoos of their address and phone number in case they forget them too?

I have 10 tattoos and I love them all except 1!,I have a cross on my ankle,ivy going down my thigh,a black crow on my belly(Bloody painful)paw print on my booby!(which is the one i dislike)dragon on left arm,heartagram on right arm,dragon on my shoulder,black heart with my childrens initials on my wrist,hubbys name with 2 skulls on back of neck and a stephen king quote on the small of my back.They can all be covered up if needed and if someone doesn't like the way my tattoos look then don't look at me!!!!
