my pal got some to use for the in-between-days of washing (cos using the dryer every day is bad for your hair), not that i need to justify why i want to try something!

hi, its the stuff you put onto your roots to stop it looking as tho it needs a wash (apparently!) or at least thats what i have been told

Lush sell solid shampoo, if that's what you mean? You can find Lush in most cities and larger towns plus you can order online here. Click that, click Products -> Hair Care and scroll down to "Solid Shampoo's [sic]"

When you next buy shampoo, select the shampoo which says 'for greasy hair types'.  This should suffice:-)

I remember it from my childhood but I have not seen it in a long time.  It was like talcum powder.  You let it work for a few minutes and then combed it off.

it's coming back in because of all the terrible things that straighteners do to hair, especially if you're using them every day. the idea of dry shampoo is to soak up the oil from your roots so that it looks reasonable for an extra day or two, so that you don't have to frazzle the life out of your hair with all that heat-styling.

not that it makes any difference for some of us, i straightened my hair this morning & by noon it was "tousled" again *grumbles*

I've used Batiste before & it's such a good invention, I'd defo reccomend it! :-) Got it from Boots... it was always on the bottom shelf & there were only ever a couple of cans left at the back!!

Bumble & Bumble also make it which is an upmarket version of the Batiste stuff.  IndieSinger, it's a completely different thing to solid shampoo!

It is just plain dirty - rubbing powder into your head is not a substitute for washing it ! Stop being so lazy and use normal shampoo like everyone else.

well u say use normal shampoo? for some people with natural frizzy hair that isn' an option!

jridgeback if you dont have a constructive comment, i wouldnt bother.  No-one is suggesting not to wash.

I agree; jridgeback, stop being a big shampoo fascist. I use Batiste when I go to festivals, when you cant always shower everyday, its pretty good. Also, I have very thin hair but lots of it, so it looks greasy after less than 24 hours, if you live on the go, you cant always shower at 7.30 on the dot every day, so its good to get you through the last few hours.
