I have organised personal trainer sessions for her as a Christmas present because she has started the gym but finding motivation an issue.
Will she appreciate the gift or take offence do you think?

I would appreciate it jd but I don't know how your wife will react.
Is that the only present?
jd....you can never tell with women..........myself i wouldn't have thought of such a present for mrs sqad, but it certainly is innovative.

Good luck.
Is this a gender issue?
I wouldn't thank you for interfering if it were me personally.
possibly with a diamond bracelet wrapped around voucher would help lol
Very dodgy ground if you ask me!!

No, she is also getting Ugg Boots.
I just want to help her but she doesnt like me getting involved with her exercise which I understand, so I thought I would speak the PT at the gym and organise 5 sessions with her so my MRS can get a good routine set up.
I am in no way saying she NEEDS it but if she has joined they gym she might as well get the most out of it!

I think I would keep my old 'Tin-hat' handy, just in case!
;-)
slightly surprised that you don't know your mrs well enough to know how she will react.....
Did you join her into the gym too?
Squad is just sticking to a safe present - more pots and pans and a new ironing board.

If - if you are not sure then don't buy the sessions. It isn't worth any potential aggro.
Depends on the missus! If I did that with mine, I'd have a bleak Christmas that might last all year ☺☺☺

Now there's a surprise,
the PT at the Gym advising you to BUY five sessions!
wolf...LOL.
We never buy each other presents at Christmas OR birthdays.
Jd, your further explanation has endeared you to me, even more. What a lovely thought.
I wouldn't thank you for the Ugg boots though. I don't like them.
'...but she doesnt like me getting involved with her exercise which I understand...'

^^^ I don't see how you booking PT sessions isn't you getting involved so i think you've answered your own question; no, I don't think she will appreciate it.

My intentions are purely to help her.
How it will be received, well I will keep you updated!
I know from experience it takes at least 5 sessions to build up a routine that suits the individual and at £16 per 1 hour session I am happy.
I know my MRS well, naturally, I am hoping that she sees the thought behind the present and doesnt think I am dropping a hint, which I am not, she is gorgeous
I get the impression that you are a gym-oholic and your wife might be a shop-oholic so to be on the safe side a Prada gift voucher .....?
LIke.... she won't go ?

difficult one
Question Author
jomifl, it is liek you knwo us!!
She is trying hard but has never really exercised before, she was one of those lucky people that didnt need to. But we are marrying in May and suddenly it is "I need to get fit, toned, sexy" etc..... Which I understand.
But she struggles with motivation and I think if somebody put her on the right track, she would begin to enjoy the gym not resent having to go. Exercise should be enjoyable and once you see and feel the benfits the motivation comes.
