My friend constantly rings me about 8am in the morning, I have not come round at that time let alone have a conversation. I have tried dropping hints, all to no avail. It happened again this morning, I have to say I have been switching the phone off, but forgot last night lol. I just blurted out, 'it is a bit early love' to which she said , 'I thought you would be up' I said I was but I hadn't got my head together yet, and she said I'll hang up then' which she did, I did not contact her back, I need a break.

When they ignore me
LOL that reminds me of my mum who refused to answer the phone during Countdown, Holby, The Archers or when she was eating. I think what gets on my nerves most is close family automatically expecting us to get together and go out for every single birthday, including my own - which I hate.
My close relatives live only a mile or so away from me, yet in 8 years have never visited. They are fully active and have cars, yet it's always me that has to visit them. And whenever I do, after maybe a couple of months, they always make remarks about how long it's been! It's the same over the phone, I'm always the one to call them and yet they always say "Where have you been all this time?" Telephones work both ways!!
Mostly my mum constantly nagging me about not doing my housework.
In your position, silka, I would either a) not answer the phone or b) answer and tell them I'd ring back after my coffee.

The only thing that slightly bothers me is my mate putting her life on facebook.

Cyber friends and cyber families are quite a different issue.
Email has improved my relationship with my sisters no end - so much more convenient all round, particularly my middle sister who does masses of voluntary work taking up most of her time - we only ring each other if there is very important news, and meet up for lunch every three months or so.
People who don't pay their way and expect you to be out of pocket all the time. and a friend springs to mind who is always changing arrangements. thats very annoying . one instance was where a group of us had agreed to meet for a pub meal and this friend didn't fancy it so at the last minute we all had to meet at her house for a cuppa and had to go hungry. :o(
Telephone protocol always used to be: Never ring before 9 a.m. or after 9 p.m. except in an emergency.
