Then stop lying.

Surely, on the outings you've had with Julie, you mention work.   Do you know where she works?

Look back on your previous'I feel bad about lying' threads and follow the advice you have been given previously.

Question Author

And say what? We haven't spoke about work much and I can't remember which thread it was.

Question Author

Yes she works in her job 4 years.

Just confess, she must realise by now what a fruitcake you are, but doesn't let it mar your friendship.

Question Author

But what do I say as I been there a year.

Err - stop lying?  It's easy when you try.

Your problem is that you have kept on lying in order to try to make people think differently about you than the reality.  Now you are in a mess.

There is a very old saying, 'Oh! What a tangled web we weave - when first we practise to deceive!'

Yes, you are in trouble - but cut the misery short and be honest with Julie and tell her you work in Selco but are hoping to find another job shortly. It's not as if you are confessing to murder!

Tell the truth in future - but you've been told that before; in fact I think I advised you to do so last year.

Question Author

I must have been working there a while by that time. I guess I felt anxious about people thinking you changed again like she did last time.

Has Julie asked you where you work?

Why does she have to know where you work?

If she asks you where you work just say "I am at Selco but looking for a change

Abbey, I expect most of your friends know that you've had a few jobs and can't have done well in them. I can understand why you lie to people, but you can't keep doing that for even more years. You asked similar questions before and never ever follow the advice given. It's unfair to your mum, pals etc- just because it makes life easier for you, doesn't make it right.

Where does she think you work?

Question Author

But if I'm planning to change. My mum knows where I work. I wouldn't change if I didn't have to.

Question Author

Care home. Made a mistake telling her about the warehouse.

Abbey, you often say you 'feel bad about lying',but you never seem to get round to doing anything! The years are marching past...

JW

The care home? You haven't told her about the laundry or Selco?

I know you won't listen, but - again - you're just making life difficult for yourself by constantly lying to people.

Pointless fantasy and drivel to attract a reponse from those (me) who should know better.

Question Author

Scor I wasn't in the laundry long but yeah I know

How do you know Julie is in the same job as 4 years ago? Does she talk about work? Does she not ask about your work? Do they  not notice your earning a pittance? You haven't even told your mum it's only 10 hours a week. Odd. Very odd.
