my sister began a relationship with a man from her class, who happens to be the crush of her new classmate and friend. she told this friend that she was also interested in this man, should she confess to this friend that she is activley dating this man?? I told her that she has already been honest enough and that telling the frriend that she is actively dating this man is unnecessary. Should she still feel guilty??

I would tell her because it is worse if this girl finds out before your sis has told her. No harm in telling her, if she goes off on one, then she will be in the wrong, this boy does not have a label on him saying I belong to... plus she should tell her friend in case her friend still thinks theres a chance and makes a play for him.

The thing is when my sister told this friend that she too was interested in this guy the friend said that she did not care and was going to continue to persue him. I need to mention that the guy and my sister have a lot more in common then the friend. The friend was pretty rude about the whole thing.
But it does make sense to tell the friend so she will stop persuing him.

If I was the friend and found out myself at a later date then I'd feel pretty stupid and humiliated and like I'd been made a fool of especially if she has to see you both all the time.

It may be worth a gentle word now, how she reacts is up to her.
