Well he hasn't asked me out. We have been chatting though and I've found out that his name is Mark, he's 37, he's got a 19 year old son and a 6 year old daughter, he's a weekend and bank holiday dad (so he's not with the mum), he lives a couple of streets away from me, he's got two cars, he's the manager of the garage and has been working there for five months, he didn't sleep well last night (woke up at 3 and was awake for 2 hours, even though he's got nothing on his mind!). He hasn't asked anything about me, or is it that I haven't told him anything about me?! I'm confused, does he like me or does he need someone to talk to?! I've thought about trying to ask if he has a girlfriend in the conversation by maybe saying 'does your girlfriend get on with your kids' or something similar to which I'd hope he'd reply 'I haven't got a girlfriend' but I don't wanna seem too pushy or forward incase he isn't interested in me in that way. I'm confused, any advice anyone? Thank x

can you post a link to the previous question?
yeah, that would be useful
Is this the one where you were taking the bairns to school and he had started to say hello as you went past.At least it has progressed a bit further, maybe he doesn`t want to seem too pushy either. He seems to just want someone to talk to at the moment,Its a modern world ask him if he fancies going for a drink. One way or anoyher you`ll find out where you stand.

I would but if he says no I'd feel so ashamed! Do you think he's not interested then or he would have said something by now?
Hi katangel.
sounds like he's making sure he's always outside at school and home time. I would say he really is interested, and you clearly do more than say hello to each other now as you know how he slept last night!
He could just be really shy. Ask him if he wants to go for a drink-nothing ventured nothing gained and it you cant hack that and it's too long to wait for your MOT you could fabricate a mechanical problem with your car and get him to have a look-then you'd have to offer him a drink to say thank you!

lol, I was a bit surprised when he said he didn't sleep last night! I do have a problem with my boot so I could possibly ask him to give me a quote for that or something, I actually look forward to chatting to him now, I'm probably making something out of nothing, thats my only worry
Of course he fancies you ,you plonker!!

Why not make a light hearted comment next time you see him.Something like:

" Maybe we should meet up for a proper natter sometimes, when Im not in a hurry with the kids"

Or else you could always ask him how he likes his toast in the morning! ; ) lol
Question Author
lol, that'd be very forward! I want him to know that I like him and that I'm available but it's not easy to drop into conversation if u know what I mean. He is veryyyyyy nice lol he definitely doesn't look his age and whereas I still get asked for ID when I buy beer! And I'm nearly 27!
Lucky thing!!

Okay, well how about asking what made him move to the area? That might reveal a bit more about whether he is single?
Life is too short not to go for it. In conversation if he said he went somewhere or did something, ask him who he went with, that should find out whether he has a girlfriend or not, you will find out eventually. Some guys are backwards at coming forwards, he sounds like one of those!
Question Author
Yeah he must be one of them although u wouldn't think it to look at him. Maybe I'll try mentioning something tomorrow, I wished when we spoke this morning when he metioned his bad night, that I'd have said something about if he had a girlfriend there. Hindsight hey!!
Ooh let us know how it goes tomorrow - I want details!!
Yes I'm with Pink, I was intriged how things were going when you posted back in October, sounds like he's interested to me. Keep us posted I wanna know what happens :o)
P.s. Your post made me smile as it reminded me of those butterflies I got when I first met my husband, I was sat here grinning going "awww go for it.."
It seems that both of you are afraid to ask each other personal questions ie relationships etc
You only get out of life what you put in, so take the bull by the horns and pluck up the courage to go for a drink etc, otherwise where have you on here in a few weeks saying, hes only gone and met someone else, i don't believe it.

Good luck
Just a thought - you say how young you look, well he may think you are much younger than you are and therefore he thinks he is too old for you??
How'd it go today Katangel??
Question Author
PinkFizz. That's a possibilty although my son is nearly 7 (having said that he doesn't know his age now mine so thats neither here now there).

I saw him today but only briefly, he was outside but chatting on the phone and then someone dropped his car off so didn't get to chat nor when I picked my son up. Feels like it's going nowhere! I know I should be braver but I'm worried about rejection, plus I've got a chest infection so feel like a pile of poo poo at the mo x
awwww, well I have an idea - say to him as he lives so near why doesnt he and his girlfriend pop round for a drink!! Then he will either say thanks,or will say he doesnt have a girlfriend in which case you just say 'oh well, you will have to come on your own'.

Am I brillianr or wot!!

Couldn't you just thump yourself sometimes!!!!!! Spoke to him again, now know when he has his daughter, when his mum takes her swimming, when his daughters birthday is (next week same day as my daughters, how freaky!), his daughters name, and what he's doing over the weekend (working saturday. helping a few friends with their cars and he's doing nothing on sunday). I know I ask him a lot of questions (hey, I'm an asker!) but he's not asked me nothing about me. I kinda know he was waiting out the back for me cos he was just doing nothing really when I walked past. Why didn't I slip into the conversation the question of if he's single!!!!! Surely if he liked me he'd ask something about me wouldn't he?! I stopped asking him stuff then it went quiet ish so I said 'I'll let you get on', we said bye then I walked away, would he have thought I was being funny? Ahhhhh lol

From-a very frustated and angry with herself-Kate lol
