Hey there, I wouldnt chance it! Its a very bad idea to mix business with pleasure. Having said that I know a couple that meet at work and are now happily married. I wouldnt do that though its risky if it goes wrong!
Ive had experience of this. I wouldnt like to do this again, the main reasons are you dont feel as comfortable at work, as the other people at work expect you to tell them everything even when the relationship is over.
Sorry, have to agree with the above posts - I always had a strict no colleagues policy which I have recently broken for the first time. It's a nightmare - when things are going right I can't talk to him even though I'm busting to, for fear of others finding out (we wanted to keep it quiet to begin with as office gossips here are something else). When it started to go badly it's even more of a nightmare - seeing him everyday but not being able to talk to him! Really, take it from me and be very careful!

Cheers guys, well i know i'll be leaving in a few months anyway so maybe i'll chance it some time in the future so if all goes wrong, it's not the end of the world! (Also i am emplyed amongst 300 other people, so it wouldn't be too hard to hide for a while!) But seriously speaking though i don't think he'd be ineterested; 6 yrs older than me, i think i'm a bit away with the fairies right now. Keep 'em coming if there's any more people out there speaking form experience...! Thanks
If you work closely, or one or both of you are involved with other people then don't do it. But if there is no harm in it then why not. Explain to him that you don't want this to affect work.

I had an affair with my boss!! and well it didn't end badly for me. He split up with his wife and found someone else and well we have a fun relationship at work as we've known each other for quite a while now and it would not happen again but we're still quite flirty!!
Have had two relationships with girls I've worked with and while its great that you see them all the time, it can be a pain for the same reason.

One girl cheated on me and I had to work next door to her for 6 months. There is no escape if something goes Pete Tong.

Also, what will you have to talk about of an evening?

On the other hand, I've known work relationships do fine as you are able to truly judge what a person is like when they're not trying to impress you on a date.
