any tips for my wedding?

Talking of weddings, I am getting married on the 8th August 2008.
I have booked the church, the live music and the venue but nothing else!
Its going to be a fairly low budget - just a church service then a party with all my family and friends.
The months are whizzing by and Im starting to panic.

Does anyone have any tips on how to organise everything else and to help things run smoothly?

I don't have any tips but we are getting married on 8/8/08 too. Congrats!

We've got the photographer, venue, reception, limo, chocolate fountain and cake booked and paid for so far.

My fiancee has made a spreadsheet of what we need and what we've paid and (touch wood) it's going well so far.

My future father in law is chinese and said that the number 8 is very significant for chinese people. The reason for this is that the word for the number '8' sounds like the word for prosperity - hence the reason for the date!

Im panicking that we arent going to get organised in time; however we have scrapped a lot of things, due to both budget reasons and because we want it fairly low key.

I know what you mean. We were looking at getting a piper but at �100 for a short visit, it seemed like te money was best spent elsewhere.

we are quite lucky - my fiance's step dad plays the bag pipes and is in a band, so he'll be playing at our wedding.

I know its sounds like a mish mash wedding but my future mother in law is Scottish and my future father in law is Chinese. Got to try and put the traditions in somewhere!
