Eczema sufferer gone off sex
6 Answers
I have had eczema all over my body since a child. I am 28 and will be getting married next year to my fiancee who is very understanding of my skin condition, and accepts me for who I am. I am very happy, everything in my life seems to be falling in place and I am looking forward to the future. The only problem is that I have literally gone off sex and sexual activity for over six months now and I cannot pin point why. My fiancee has been very understanding, and says it may be that my skin has made me feel this way, which I believe is partly true as I have been getting ill a lot more recently and even been on oral steroids and anti-biotics. However, it is putting some strain on us and I feel very guilty and ashamed as I was very active before this and had no problems. Why is this happening and how can I get my drive back? It's so frustrating and I love him dearly, and he is still supportive. I have been to the GP but they cannot offer me free counselling as its not available in my area. I feel this is all psychological but it does actually hurt a bit when we try. Any ideas? Sorry to talk about such an issue but I dont know where else to turn!

I'm not into alternative medicine but I remember years ago on the news there was this baby who had serious eczema all over it's body and there was nothing the doctors could do. So in desperation the parents went to see a Chinese remedy place thing (they're everywhere now) and it cleared up like a shot.
The remedies are personal it's based on the individual so you need a consultation, but what you got to lose? Budget 100 on it and see.
I'm in China in a few weeks, I could ask future Mrs.Ev what qualifications you need to look for if you like. Over there it's your first choice, they have dedicated medical colleges with proper certification (or else you can't practice) might take a few days though, as she's already over there.

gateaux - have you tried oatmeal baths? Cheap, and pretty effective for skin complaints such as eczema.
As for your loss of libido, the normal hormone balance in the body can be affected by taking steroids. Maybe this link'll help you - x

I know it's not exactly the issue but my sister had psoriasis all over her body. She was prescribed a course of sunbed treatments (for want of a better description) at a local hospital. This helped her immensely. I'm not advocating skin-cancer causing tanning machines but they were really quick bursts.
Maybe a trip to a salon? A bit of time to look after yourself always helps too. x
