hi Puddi.. this is a strange one. I was really delighted to get an email from an old friend I'd lost contact with over 10 years ago. we swapped a few excited emails, but she's just not replied to my last one. I told her that my then husband (she knew him too) had been desperately ill, but had made a partial recovery, and that we ended up divorcing some time after.

I guess she didn't approve that I'd wanted a divorce after all he'd been through.

such is life.... maybe we lost contact for a reason. it was fun while it lasted but I am disappointed.
could she just be busy and hasnt had the chance to reply to your email?
There might be allsorts of reasons why she hasn't replied. How long has it been since you wrote to her? Try not to worry.
Sometimes people get in touch again on a whim maybe nostalgia-I know I'm guilty of this-and then their mood changes, they find other things and just lose interest again. It's a shame.
Friendships are often based around being in the vicinity or direct contact with each other, so you have shared current events and common 'in the now' events to chat and swap ideas about.
It could be that without this mutual everyday contact your friend is struggling to make her emails seem interesting and feels that she may have covered much of what happened in the missing years already.
Then again, as the immediate excitement of your reconcilliation has worn off, she may just be a bit slower at replying. You can't keep up a fervent email swap constantly.
I would suggest waiting a while and when she replies, leave a gap before you respond, so that there is no pressure on either of you to keep up the pace!
i think that the interesting thing is that you have assumed her "non reply" is due to you divorcing after his illness..................is that what is really worrying you ???

Her none reply could be one of 10 zillion reasons, none of which are anything to do with you.............and the only way you have of finding out is to ask her ??? or have the faith that it just wasnt "it" for her at this time

but come back to you...............the most important person in this question...............are you a little bit feeling guilty ??

is that what we should be discussing here ??
