The other day my certain special someone said he did not say he did not love me, and then when I texted him the next day to say I adores me, he said 'ditto'. The problem is he never comes out and says he loves me. Why would he do this?

There are also some men who just don't compliment their partners, possibly believing that the fact that he sticks with you is enough to tell you what you want to know. Stupid, but us men can be like that sometimes !

Decades ago people did not wish to appear sexist either when some stood up and pointed out the embedded sexism against women in so much of our culture. The sexism was often expressed in throwaway remarks and defended as not meaning anything.
Women have opportunities now that were not available to them before the 1960s because people were made aware of sexism against women and changed their habits. I don't think young people really comprehend the extent of these old barriers against women.
Unfortunately a similar emancipation was not made available to men and many women don't recognise the sexism still perpetrated upon men. It mosly involves persistent accusations about men not being emotional sensitive and unwilling to commit to relationships.
I grew up in the 60s and 70s and suffered terribly for being an sensitive male. I didn't do the macho stuff and I was frequently accused of being a sissy or gay. Meanwhile my personality traits were considered quite acceptible for girls.
It still hurts when I see women generalising about men. All I ask is that people respect our diversity.

Hang on...why do you feel she should call it a day jut because he doesn't say those 3 words?
Actions speak louder than words you know, and I still say the very fact that he's with her tells her all she needs to know.
in my opinion razmataz, you're fretting over something and nothing. Don't let it get to you. If you let this little thing, and it is little, worry you, you're in danger of forcing him away anyway. There's nothing more off putting than someone who's needy.
