Well thats what my best mate reckons her old man is and apparently its gotten worse over the years. She's tried everything they can think of and nothing has made the slightest bit of difference. Her husband has even been into hospital and had his nose broken and reset but that also made no difference. Ear plugs of every sort don't even soften the racket and they don't have a spare room for one of them to move into so hence the poor lass is getting very little sleep. If anyone has any ideas of anything else that can be tried, my mate would just love to hear them! Cheers x

My OH is pretty bad- and getting worse.

The best thing is for her OH to lose weight. Snoring gets worse the heavier you are, especially in men. A Collar size over 17" substantially increases the likeliehood and severity of snoring.

However, that may not be an option, and isnt going to help short term.

The only thing i have found that worked and might be worth a try for her is a gadget that the snorer wears in his mouth over night. Its pretty much like a mouthguard that rugby players/boxers etc wear. It keeps the palate and jaws firmer, straight and aligned, which reduces the snoring.

I found it lessens the noise when he is on his back, and pretty much gets rid of it when on his back or side.

The expensive ones cost 100 or so, so you might want to try a cheaper one to start off with to see if it helps.
Mine was a goodsend. i'd almost got to the point of despair and insanity from lack of sleep!

I got his on ebay. Not from this seller, but it shows you what to look for!

my mate's husband wears anti-snoring rings on both his little fingers and she cannot believe the difference they make - they sell them in Boots but are not cheap.....
lizzy.......excellent answer by kira.

You could go to see an ENT surgeon who specialises in OSA (obstructive sleep apnoea)

There are positive pressure therapy and if necessary, operations to shorten the soft palate either by laser or surgery.

Google...Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.

Must find the right clinic for investigation.
Thanks Sqad! Suffering tends to make one an expert on such things! I'd rather have a peaceful night sleep tho!
