He either genuinely fell asleep or
he got nervous and backed out or
he wants to hurt you because you've hurt him before (maybe without you knowing you had)
or he's a selfish jerk
Well it depends what he has been texting you really, he might just be using you and lonely, or he might have perfectly good reasons to why he didnt meet up with you.

Is he the nervous shy type?!
a man who can't be relied upon is full of sh*t i agree

and if he gives the excuse that he fell asleep then he doens't care about you in the slightest. sorry.

if i was him, i'd be getting all excited about a new relationship with someone i liked and made sure i blummin well was there when i said i would be! :)
What does he do for a living?

My BF use to fall asleep all the time. He gave me a key to his house (not far from mine) so if he didn't turn up I could get in and wake him.

If you two were friends previously it's not quite the same as if you had only just met.
Maybe he cant get out without waking his girlfriend / wife?

maybe she sleeps across the front door. haha!
he hasnt got a girlfriend really.
i like the "he maybe nervous", i do genuinely believe likes me but i dont want to send him a tex and not get a response, dont know what i would say anyway.
and i dont want him to think im pestering him

If he does like you he will respond. Ask him out for a coffee.....for the pick me up lol
Where has my answer gone, i dont seem to remember being offensive! AB has a mind of its own at the moment!

Have you confronted him?
If he can do this to you this early on, what will he do if you had a relationship with him?
I don't think he's worth it x
Many men like this, like to have "options". So if they are single, or even if they arent single, they will attempt to line up a few options, that they have on standby should the urge arise, or should their current bit of stuff fall through.

The leading you on and getting you keen, and then not seeing it through is a classic sign of this.

I have learnt the hard way, that if a guy is really keen, he will overcome obstacles to be with you. If he acts keen and then offers lame excuses, then he is just using you as a back up or a fill in. If you make yourself available, he will use that.

Steer clear and find a bloke who will make the effort that you are worth.

I agree that(most) men are full of sh!t but its because you show them exactly how to do it then put up with sh!t.

Dump the loser & go kiss some more frogs!
