getting divorced from a shambolic marraige

i am an english lady living in england and i married a morrocan man in morrocco were he lives...we did not see each other for a year once we were married but spoke on the fone oftern...he asked me to pay for his visa and his trips to the embassy as he wasnt working at the time and couldnt afford it, and he would repay me wen i came back out...which was a year later as i had work commitments...when i went back out there he not only did not pay me back but i found out that he didnt apply for the visa and he never went to the embassy...the money was spent on drugs alcohol cigerettes and paying his bills...i told him i want a divorce which he is refusing and then he said i have to go back out there and ask him for one and i have to pay a lot of money...i just want this man out of my life i just wish i never met him ...can any one help please with advice on what to do...i wud be so greatful...thank you

Go to your local Courts and file for divorce....it can be done in his absence - all over in 3m @ £300approx. Do it fast and cut the ties.

I don't think you want to go back out there and ask him for one, you've already asked him - if you go out again, sounds like he'll touch you for money again and that's why it'll cost you. I am sorry for your situation - but I think the advice to go to your local Court first is the best one under the circumstances, they will tell you for certain if you can be divorced under English law.
