Cherrybakewell there are many good men out there as there are many good women out there, just like shooting stars in the sky, but they're all shooting wildly across the sky usually bumping into "Bad" partners if there was only a way to to make good bump into good, but then saying that you only know good after you've been through bad so everyone has their place I suppose!
To answer your question A, why are they single, maybe been in a bad relationship and had enough or maybe a weirdo or cheater.
B,Where are they, dating sites, phone chatlines, pubs clubs maybe even the supermarket! Have patience and faith as good things come to those that wait.

Yes I tried online dating once only, and did meet a chap on there, At the start was soo lovely, but turned out to be obsessive, jealous and slightly "loopy"!! so not doing online dating again lol.... There are many good people who for one reason or another are single.
bigfoot3000 names a few however many more reasons exist.

You problem i guess is meeting them , sadly there is no magic formula no magic / secret meeting place.
Usualy you will meet someoen when you least expect it and are not even looking, however this should not be taken as the only way as many do meet when looking.

Best advice i can give is to not give up , even when you try something like a dating site and find your first experiance isnt exactly the best , it doesnt mean it will always be that way.
