Difficult situation!

My best friend just had a messy break up with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend came out worse of the situation, my friend is relieved to be out of the relationship. Now im left in a difficult situation, can i maintain my friendship with her ex, and can i persue a relationship with one of his friends or not?

If she is a friend she should understand that you are still mates with them. It will be difficult though.

talk to your friend, explain you want to persue realtionship with ex friend, dont think that would be a prob, but be honest. Also ask how she feels if you stayed mayes with her ex, this may be more difficult!!

I think it's hard. We were friends with a couple who split, the man stayed friends with my OH until he realised that I was still friendly with the girl, then he dropped us. I can't see though why you can't go ahead with the relationship with the man's friend, that's nothing to do with the ex-couple.

it may not be wrong but whilst she is in recovery, and for your belief that she is "relieved to be out of the relationship" i still think she will want/need a little time to complete the distancing process.

However much she might say she doesnt mind, when you ask her, she may vell i believe think less of you for not supporting her completely for this period and you may well find she moves away from you either for a while or for ever.

How strong is your friendship i wonder ?? and how important is it to you to be supportive of her , or do you not feel that supportive ??? especially as you think he came our of it worse....................... an interesting justification of your actions i wonder ???

As everyone says, there will be repercussions of you pursuit of your friends exs friendship and one of his mates........................it is dependent if it will all be worth it in the end !!
