Hi

I am considering hiring a horse and carriage for my wedding next year.

I can't seem to find any prices on the internet and do not want to contact any companies directly at this stage as at present this is just an idea (we are on quite a tight budget).

Could anybody out there tell me how much this would cost (roughly)?

Thank you.

why not try just contacting one near you for a ball park cost? Location and distance of travel will vary prices quite a bit I think...

Plus - if it helps.. we got prices for transport for our wedding (cars not horses) and it was so expensive (as they can only do one booking in a day) that we opted for a smart taxi in the end.. Might seem tight.. but you only get seen in the carriage when arriving or leaving.. all the rest of the time you wont be in it!
Might be better of spending the money on the catering or flowers instead... especially if budget is tight!
Also I wouldnt be surprised if it costs a few hundred pounds too... if the journey is short.. its an awfully expensive ride! The horsed would have to be groomed.. two staff attending with one steering them.. costumes etc!
they will cost fortune ! everything goes up at the at the mention of 'wedding' ! i was quoted £75 for a standard car - when i said it was for bridesmaids it went up to £150 with some garbled excuse about how they wont use it for the rest of the day (i didnt car was only to take them 1 way, as whole do was at a hotel!)

I paid (through the nose) for a white cadillac which cost around £600 - but was happy to pay this as wanted it more than i was bothered about dress etc ...

horse & carriage is even more extravagent as its the typical romantical traditonal transport for wedding .. quick look at the below link...

mr c paid under a thousand for 2 vintage Daimlers and a Routemaster to transport guests to and from service and reception for daughters wedding, so it does pay to shop around to get the best prices.
