He is depressed because he has been having trouble finding a girl friend. Well the final straw was yesterday, he went shopping in Tesco and bought some condoms.
When he was at the self service check out and put them through the scanner the machine said in a loud voice "Unexpected item in bagging area". Where does he go from here?
I know this was a co-incidence but he is very upset.
The loud voice saying 'Unexpected item in bagging area' may have been nothing to do with his 'purchase' (for the want of a better word). It said that to me once - the unexpected item was my shopping bag I had placed there in readiness.
Poor blighter. I think the machine had detected something, maybe bought from another store, which was in his pocket or personal bag. It doesn't scan articles in the basket that haven't been paid for - why would it? "Unexpected" is polite for "could have been nicked". Find him a girl Lindy, who can't find a boy-friend - no matter who you are or what, there's someone for you - and more than one too.
