I'm the type of girl who meets bad guys. Ive had a few long term serious relationships with typical alpha males. I always liked the same typical jack the lad. Then I joined university & got to know one of the lovliest guys I have ever met in my whole life & hes like everything I could want. hes not an alpha male, hes not cocky, hes shy like me, hes cute looking but he has an AMAZING personality, we both dont like drinking etc...etc...etc. We text everyday & when I have a problem he's the first I'd go to. When drunk the other night (rare occasion) I told him how I felt. I told him how I liked him and he said the same back. In the morning I appologised for being so upfront (since we dont seem to talk like that normally with each other) and he said not to appologise, he likes me too, but we live too far away. Since then we've been texting everyday, like we normally do and nothings changed. We both commute to uni everyday & we do live a good 4 hours away. Does this mean hes not interested due to distance or hes just gently being a nice guy & letting me down softly? x

Sounds like he has already let you down gently by saying you both live too far away. He's probably happy to continue the communication as he likes you and feels he's been up front about how he feels about not being able to be anything more than friends.
He sounds to me like he's the sort of guy who will always be a very good friend, but nothing more. We all make mistakes - don't say any more to him about your declaration, just file it, and be very glad that it hasn't put him off. A bloke friend is hard to find, one with no strings - make the most of it. You're very lucky.

yeah boxtops, I guess youre right. He is an amazing friend & a lovely guy. Genuine too. I am glad I have his friendship. :) xx
notnotnot, you don't HAVE to carry on meeting bad guys...just decide not to!!
Why not visit each other on alternate weekends? One week you go to his and vice versa. You might find out if you are compatible having spent many hours together. You said "He likes me too but we live too far away". Is that just a thought on your part or has he actually said "he lives too far away"?

Stay friends. He sounds a good guy.
woofgang........women can´t resist "bad guys".....they are more exciting than "nice guys" who tend to be boring.
"women can´t resist "bad guys".....they are more exciting than "nice guys" who tend to be boring. "

What a load of crap!
Agree with BOO.

I went out with a 'bad' guy once...and once only. I much prefer to be treated nicely.
BOO....LOL....scientific fact.

They may marry the "nice guys" for family stability, but they soon then look for the "bad guys" to put some excitement in their lives.

If course, one has to define "good guys" and "bad guys"
To me, you are coming across a bit too anxious.
So women, marry nice guys and then begger off with bad guys?

Should I warn Mr Boo now then?

Honestly sqad, stop trying to foist your deluded views on morality on to others, not every guy is like you and not every woman are like the one's you've met.
BOO.....open forum and you don,t care for my views.......fair enough and I didn´t say "every guy"

If women know that someone is a "bad guy" and they do, then why do they enter a relationship?...........and yet they do.........so there must be an attraction?

Women who "fall in love" with Rapists, Murderers, prisoners.........this is a well known situation........OK.....not common.
Haha Sqad Are you a 'good' guy or a 'bad' guy? ;-)

And did Mrs. Sqad marry you for family stability or is it the other way 'round? ;-)
soc....LOL.....just ask any female on AB that question.........."is sqad a good guy or a bad guy?"...........they will give you the answer.

Why did Mrs sqad and Mr sqad marry?..........that must be one of the most commonest question in the establishment of marriage..........why did I marry him/her?
''Sqad Are you a 'good' guy or a 'bad' guy?''

Ugly?
".just ask any female on AB that question."

LOL We are still 'weighing' you. :-)
Well I for one will not go out with a bad guy. There are some that I've found attractive over the years...but not for me, so I avoid them.
I have way too much respect for myself to be allowed to be treated like crap by anyone, least of all a bloke.
I am not saying I agree with Sqad (heaven forbid) but I was very drawn to bad guys when I was young. Well not bad guys exactly, but not nice guys either. Just interesting, deep guys who presented a challenge. I could never stand guys that treated me like a princess and were all over me.

Anyway I married a challenging guy, who underneath is a seriously good guy but still presents a challenge.

Notnotnot. I wouldn't give up on your good guy!!

However, I could never have married a bad guy who plays around or is a womaniser - never, ever, ever.
