Hello all,

A very happy New year to all our Onwards and Downwards crew. I hope you all had a lovely time over Christmas and let yourselves have a treat now and then. I expect we shall gain a few more members this months, well the more the merrier I say.

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Hi Maid up yes very difficult in this weather but I too have refrained from eating in between meals so that helps. Good luck for next week.
We have just come home with a new scales.......#@!¤ It doesn't work...so back in to the shop again on Monday. This was a middle of the road price. We will get our money refunded, no problem there but the problem is where to find a another place that sells them....watch this space!!
Good Morning All,

Hubby happened to hit the old scales on the door jam and voila it is working again so problem solved.

My weight is the same as was the day before we left to come down here so I am pleased it didn't go the other way as I feared but I must try harder. I admit that I am just coasting along and that is not the way to loose weight.
Ive been bad!! I had my normal breakfast of grapefruit with a couple of spoons of natural yoghurt on top with a cup of sugarless tea, I have now just eaten two slices of sourdough toast with a tiny bit of Marmite!! :-(
Goodmorning xstitcher. :-)
Good Morning Ratter.....Your breakfast sounds all right, well minus the Marmite.

In the winter I have porridge, 2 small slices of Lidl brown toast with honey and a slice of fresh pineapple or a mandarine, juice, water and tea.....I only use lemon in my tea and any sugar I use is sweetener not real sugar.
Just add it in to the running total for the day, take it into account. At least you didn't do what I did Friday. Om impulse had a supermarket refrectory breakfast ! Yes, went over target that day, was heavier next day. :-(
I have a big rump steak for dinner today, im not sure what the good lady is doing with it though or what we are having with it.
I expect she's waving it in front of your nose saying, "This is what the rest of us are having, and here is your salad alternative".
lol og. no, only the two of us eating steak and she is also on a diet. :-)
Hi Ratter no harm in having a treat at the weekend it is what goes along with the steak that will show up more like having chips and crusty bread like I have when I have a steak but I count that as a weekly treat now you have given me an idea not had steak for ages but would have it with salad and just a few potato wedges.
Oh dear....

....OH has a taste for these large puff pastry cheese twists in the supermarket bakery. "Just get one for yourself" says I, but back he comes with 3 for the price of 2. Once home I had no choice but to help him out with them, he couldn't possibly manage all 3 for lunch!

It just goes to prove that what you don't have you don't miss, but once its in the house its much harder to resist. I'll be stronger next time.
Just like me maid up. I have actually picked up cake in asda and felt that guilty when I walked away that I put it back.
Here here!! Maidup
Ive lost another 2 lbs, which is 2 1/2 stones since the middle of October. Im surprise this week, actually, I've not been at all strict. Just goes to show how much damage the old amber nectar does to the waistline! Im hoping to lose another 7lbs in the next 3 weeks then I can relax for two weeks while I'm away. Then when I get back, I want to try to lose another 7 lbs before I go away again at the end of April.
Great to hear LyndaB. Unfortunately it looks as if my week sees my weight rushing in the other direction.

I used to like those cheese twists too but have been disappointed the last couple of times I've treated myself. (Quite a few months back now.) Seemed far less cheesy tasting than I recalled, I think they started skimping on the cheese (cheese flavour ?).
Well done lynda you seem to be on the right track and got gaols to aim for which is a good help. Keep up the good work.
I've had a couple of days of over eating, put on a 1lb, I need to get back on track.
Wendilla, I have no intention of ending up in gaol lol
lol at Lynda, I just noticed that :-)
