Yes I started last Tuesday and today is my second fast day of my second week and I've lost 6 pounds. (Considering for the last 6 weeks I've been walking 5 miles per day and doing other exercise and didn't lose a single pound) If you haven't watched the Horizon programme "Eat Fast Live Longer" then perhaps watch it as it's very interesting. Not personally, but it's one I'm considering - but I do know people who've tried it. If you can survive on the 2 nearly-fasting days, it seems to have very good results.

I've had good results on WW on line, lost a stone - it's the discipline which matters to me, knowing I have to note down everything I ear (and realising how much rubbish I eat on bad days).

Do join the Onwards and Downwards thread on here, people weigh in on Wednesdays - the peer support is good :-)
Do the 2 fasting days have to be consecutive? (Probably a really daft question...)

My husband is on this , started in March and has lost a stone, it is hard on his fasting days which are Mondays and Thursdays but he is getting there gradually, even though he put 4lb on when we went on holiday.He bought a couple of books about it from Amazon, he has done very well, some weeks he lost more than others and there was a couple of weeks when he gained, but it hss been a good thing for him , especially as he is diabetic and injects insulin every day.I tried it but I fell by the wayside, husband has a very strong will, much better than me.Good luck with it, hope you do well.

Some say that any kind of interrmitent fasting will give you the benefits...this includes skipping a meal like breakfast and leaving a window of 16 hours(say from 8pm to noon) without food.

Thank you everyone! I've just bought the book off Amazon - sounds good! If its only 2 days eating 500 cals, I think I may just be able to do that!

If you haven't watched the Horizon programme "Eat Fast Live Longer" then perhaps watch it as it's very interesting. Even if it's not for weight loss, the health benefits seem to be advantageous.
