Onwards and Downwards Continues in October 2015

Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Despite this Indian summer we are having autumn is well and truly here. This means soups and warming dishes.

Also Halloween is just around the corner and if you have children and grandchildren then the prospect of a night full of sugar rush and tantrums probably fills you with horror!

Here are a few treats for Halloween that may not be sugar free but certainly will not be filled with e-numbers:

Sweet and spicy pepitas popcorn balls, you could sub in the flavours you wanted or just make the balls plain and have dips on the table instead.

These sweet potato chips look yummy and you could add whatever dip or chutney or sauce you liked.

Although this does have chocolate it does still mean a bite of something healthy as well

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

crikey OG,

you are on the ball today :-)

Coincidence. Having a coffee break.
Scales say I lost today too.
Hmmm I may need to replace the scallions with spring onions in your recipe ;-)
Thanks Auntie, you're a star!
Thanks auntie
Hi Xstitcher, I am aiming to do 10,000 steps a day. I wear it all day, so some of those steps are general pottering. :-)
10,000 steps a day.........Wow!
I've done 11753 today, but about 5000 is the usual for me.
I used one a few years ago and it is surprising how many steps you clock up .
What were you doing to more than double your output?
Yesterday half of it was general pottering about, and half of it was a deliberate walk up and down the seafront :-)
Ah the sea front. That used to be my daily walk but is on hold now until I get my balance back. I think walks go hand in hand along with healthy eating for a weight loss.
I'm going to see if I can find a step counter. It will also help me gauge my recovery.
What type do have Maydup? I've just checked them out on eBay and don't know what type to get.
Mine's the one that doesn't let you sleep xstitcher; still counting as I pace about in the early hours!
Glad to see that I'm not the only one awake. I try and wait a few hours before breakfast. A cuppa or coffee helps.
I've decided that it is time for a new look!
Best wishes to all for October.
Thanks Janbee. How are things at yours?
Oh X, I fell by the wayside some time ago. I really must get my backside into gear and shape up for Christmas.
Never too early (in the morning) to start :-)
