Hi there. I’m trying to lose weight and have got to the point where diet alone won’t work. I have mobility issues and need to find some exercises that I could do. Can anyone recommend any videos or other resources that can help with this please?

sorry I havent. I would think youd be better going through your doctor who knows your personal medical history for advice/ help.
It depends on what your limitations are but if you google "Chair exercises" "chair yoga" or "wheelchair exercises" there will be quite a few to choose from.
If you follow a correct diet, you will lose weight. Exercise helps, because it burns up calories. May I suggest that you get in touch with Slimming World. Their diet regimen is excellent and is endorsed by doctors. I struggled with weight issues for many years and since joining them I have lost over 5 stone. We have people in my group in similar situations to yours, who have lost massive amounts of weight, just by sticking to the diet. Swimming is a great form of exercise if you can do it. Your GP may be able to refer you to Slimming World for a free trial. They are a great bunch of people and you will receive all the help and support you need. Take a look at their website or buy the Slimming World Magazine. Well done for making the effort and good luck. NB other diet plans are available!
You need to do a lot of exercise to compensate for a small calorie input. For sure there are other factors, but if you are disabled, how much exercise can you achieve ?

Do some by all means, for health reasons, but despite your belief that diet alone won't work, it must. It's the way wieght is lost.

You probably need to get used to smaller meals so you don't take in more than you need. Hard, but once acclimatised, and no longer craving more, things should get better. Also, probably a good idea to get professional help with putting together the diet meals in order to ensure you get sufficient nutrients from the smaller portions.
weight loss is 95% about what you put in your mouth. Although exercise can enhance weight loss it's not an equal balance

Thank you folks. A lot of food for thought. I have lost some weight through diet but seem to have plateaued. I think I’ll try a combo of GP/slimming world and professional diet plans. Fingers crossed they won’t cost the earth :)
Slimming World is about £5 a week and you just use ordinary food, nothing special. It’s a really good way to lose weight and has helped me in the past. Good luck, it’s not easy is it.
If you have YouTube, you can find videos that might work for you. Any activity is better than none, but yes, it's obviously diet as well.
I’m disabled but go to rehab training twice a week which really helps....this goes through my doctor and my physios are training my group. The dear Danish NHS pays for it.
I went to chair yoga ? last year and after two visits when some of the old dears were sleeping in their chairs - I didn't go back. I'm depressed enough.
Joe wickes has lots of videos on you tube, have a look at his chair exercises. I think that exercise helps with weight loss, but also it makes you feel better. He is very inspiring - and easy on the eye!
I’m also disabled and a bit overweight. I can’t emphasise how important exercise is. I go to special training twice a week which I get free from the Danish NHS, I think the advice that you go and have a talk with your doctor is excellent. Believe me they are usually over the moon when they have a patient who seriously wants to improve their health. Please don’t loose you mind set and I wish you all the luck in the world.
