My husband and I have recently been discharged from personal bankruptcy and have started up our own limited company to carry out a business venture, however we are finding it extremely difficult to open a basic, deposit only, business bank account (we don't need any funding or financial support). Can anyone recommend a bank that will open a basic deposit account for us?
Also, would it be better for us to register our son as a director and get him to open the account instead?

Hi Bertie, I went through a Trust Deed to clear my Bankruptcy and the only place where I could get an basic account was with the Nationwide. That was 5 years ago. Hope you get sorted, I know how frustrating it can be!

Thanks Vodkancoke - my husband has been to The Nationwide this morning and they said no even after us explaining the situation on the phone before he went to the branch. I've also heard that Lloyds TSB may be able to help so we've got an appointment with them next week.
