Was cleaning out a cupboard today at parents house, and found roughly 100 lottery tickets, some dating back over 20 years old.

Given that there has been millions unclaimed lottery wins over the years since it started in 1996, what are the chances we could be sitting on millions of pounds of unclaimed tickets?

Or has the ship already long since sailed?

180 days

You have 180 days to claim a prize.

It's 187 days in a specific scenario but either way it's unlikely there are winning tickets among them

Definitely they are older than 180 days, probably the most recent I found was from 2015.

I'm not brave enough to see if they didn't check their tickets. But its possible as they would have been in their 70's and 80's by then.

I was just surprised to unearth so many tickets, I never knew they were into the lottery as heavily.

Quite a revelation.
