do you have to give them your home address or can you just give them a contact address?

You tell the official receiver everything and that includes your home address, and answer everything they ask you truthfully without leving anything out.
Such a question as yours gives the impression of trying to hide something. I really wouldn't bother trying.

What is the point of the law letting you go bankrupt if you then want to run away from the "stigma" that is, quite rightly attached to it. That "stigma" protects others in their dealings with you. It is not there just to taach you a lesson, more a warning to others.
