my self employed husband (pays VAT, is registered etc) is due to have surgery. he will be unable to work for at least 6 weeks (but possibly up to 10) as he is the main breadwinner meeting our monthly bills will be impossible. Is there any government assistance he can apply for for the time he is off ill?
