novel idea for a toy

i have what i believe is a novel idea for a toy.
any idea how i can submit my idea to a toy manufacturer without them just taking the idea & marketing it?

patent the idea/design first.

You need to not mention it to anyone. By law, if you tell other people, it is not elegible for patent protection. You need to contact a patent office and find out how patentable it is, and then cover yourself with the right protection. Then go out there and find away to take it to market.
