faulty tv,.can i get my money back

I brought a LG 19 inch Flat screen TV on 27th Dec 2007 from Currys for �229.00.

The TV can only be switched on or off by remote control and cannot be done manually. The programmes and volume button can only be used by remote control and not manually'. The TV switches its self off at times and the picture freezes .

This Tv is faulty I spoke to Curry's today who said that because it is 3 days over the 28 days return policy . I cannot have a replacement or my money back but Currys can send the TV away for repairs which will take up to 8 weeks to repair .
