what happens when a mailed paycheque is returned with a return to sender on the envelope as the person no longer lives there and we have no forwarding address or phone number? Now the cheque is stale dated and T4's were done and they included those wages

How do we handle this type of situation and do we issue amended T4's?

I assume stale-dated means the cheque has expired.
Sorry, I don't know what a T4 is- I assume it's a US term- is it the equivalent of an annual p45 here in the UK?

I suggest you keep the envelope as proof that you tried tp pay the cheque in case the owner claims you failed to pay him/her. It's likely he or she will try to contact you as surely they need the money.
