Failed standing order
4 Answers
As the owner of a martial arts school, do I have any comeback with the bank (Santander) when the standing order from one of my students repeatedly fails to go through? This has happened a number of times, despite my checking the correct details with the bank before sending the forms off.

This is because my current account has one too many digits for the sto/dd set-up that organisations use, and the first 6 has to be dropped when entering the details.
After three years, Kew Gardens is still getting wrong, but promise me this will no longer be an issue. Has your student given you his account number and sort code to use? If so is this account number nine numbers long? It will have to be reduced to eight, and in my case dropping the first six of the double six that I assume all account numbers start with. Sorry if this over complicates the problem, but I have found it a real pain. jj
