state pension
5 Answers
the age my wife can recieve her state pension has been increased from 60 to 62 and a half, she has 30 years contributions, she has heard that if she is a child minder (she is, unpaid looking after the grandaughter), she could still claim her pension at 60 because she unable to look for work. Is this a mith? or has anybody heard of other reasons to be able to claim.

Here is the web site for the womens pension advisory centre they are the best people to ask. There is also a pension age calculator to check when the pension date is. There have been very recent changes , I think from April 6th this year .

Is she a registered childminder? I only ask because if she declares that she's a childminder when in fact she's not registered she could be a whole heap of other trouble. There's a lot of things to adhere to
