If I pay for my kitchen part cheque, part master card, should the company go broke before delivery would I get the full amount refunded by master card. I am not expecting them to go broke but I want to cover myself !!

You will be protected in full if you part-pay with a CREDIT card.

i think (but don't know for sure) that if you have paid over £100 on the MC it is

you'll only be covered on the card for what you spend on the card. Anything outside that is down to you cos it's a totally different transaction. Just put it all on the card and use the cheque amount towards the card payment.

Sorry, but Postdog is WRONG. Under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, you are covered IN FULL even if onlypart-paying on credit card.

take a read of this. If you paid just a deposit on card then you are still covered for ALL the cost.
