Euros For Holiday Money - What Country Do They Come From?

This may seem a silly question, but I cannot find the answer.
I know that euro notes have a prefix which shows which country they belong to ie. 'Y' for Greece where I am going. I also realise that any country's Euros can be used across the EU. But..........

as we in UK are not in the Euro, where does my bank or the post office obtain there Euro notes. Are they French, German, or what.

Anywhere and everywhere. In Ireland, France etc you find notes and coins from other euro countries in your change. If you got a load of euros from just one country, you'd find some were from other countries

i obtained some euros during the week for a forthcoming holiday - having just looked at them, the notes come from Germany, Austria and Ireland.

I work in a Post Office and any new Euros we get are usually from either Germany or the Netherlands.
