I dont mind tying it up for a year or 2. And i have used all isa allowances for this year and have money in hand for next year too.

There's a good book called Fundology available in kindle or paper formats.

premium bonds are a safe gamble.

gold is safe but currently very high.

Do you want a high return guaranteed, or just to keep it safe? Premium bonds if the latter - scour round the banks and building societies if not.

I have maximum amount of premium bonds. I do not like to be very risky prefer to be safe. I wondered if anyone had done the searching recently and could point me in the right direction.

If you find out, please let me know. You would be lucky to get 2% per annum and that would be taxed.

I would draw it out in cash, put it into a house safe and negotiate cash deals with it.

Would like to know too...without a risk as in similar sort of situation. I guess riskier things give more return (unfortunately when you can't afford to lose it if it goes the other way.,..)

That's why I like investment bonds, you cab choose the level of risk/return although nothing is completely safe.
