In view of the recent bank changes, is it still in order to pay using Lloyds TBS cheques?

If there were any changes to your account, you would(or should) have been informed months ago. In the absence of any such contact you can only carry on as normal.

I believe you can write out a cheque on anything (or almost anything) and present it, so I can't see continuing to use your issued chequebook being a problem.

Thank you for your answers. Yes it would be easy enough to write a cheque but it wouldn't specify which bank. If I were to receive such a cheque I wouldn't be sure whether it was drawn on Lloyds Bank or TSB and would wonder what I should do with it.

You present it at your own bank and they work out the sort code and account number.

Yes. I'm in the same position and there is no problem with the Lloyds cheques.

The sort code and account number will not change so just carry on until the cheque book is used up it will not make a difference.

Coldicote - yes, you can - I wrote a cheque today on my LTSB cheque book, and it was accepted by another bank.

I went into the lloyds in wigan on monday to pay a cheque in and i am now with the TSB after the split, it was only whilst i was in the queue i remembered that it was nolonger lloydstsb, they had leaflets in dispensers in the queueing system and so i grabbed one, apparently it's still ok to use either bank as long as you have proof of your account number and sort code as they can't finbd accounts on the system without it, it says in the leaflet,
'It will be a while before all LloydsTSb chequebooks in use by customers are replaced with lloyds bank cheque books and tsb cheque books, the cheques will still be valid but if you recieve a lloyds tsb cheque that needs to clear by a specific date, you should ask the person who has given it to you if their account is with lloyds or tsb. you can also look up the sort code on the cheque by using the branch checker at www.lloydstsbtransfer.com to see which bank the cheque is from. '
