I went into the lloyds in wigan on monday to pay a cheque in and i am now with the TSB after the split, it was only whilst i was in the queue i remembered that it was nolonger lloydstsb, they had leaflets in dispensers in the queueing system and so i grabbed one, apparently it's still ok to use either bank as long as you have proof of your account number and sort code as they can't finbd accounts on the system without it, it says in the leaflet,
'It will be a while before all LloydsTSb chequebooks in use by customers are replaced with lloyds bank cheque books and tsb cheque books, the cheques will still be valid but if you recieve a lloyds tsb cheque that needs to clear by a specific date, you should ask the person who has given it to you if their account is with lloyds or tsb. you can also look up the sort code on the cheque by using the branch checker at www.lloydstsbtransfer.com to see which bank the cheque is from.
