We are with OVO, at the moment they are good, but i have no doubt that they will follow the rest and hike their prices. I suppose the the thing to do, as the government say, is to find the cheapest supplier, but get a fixed tariff for x amount of months. no point changing if the new supplier is going to increase prices next week.

Nope - I like British Gas, and we signed a contract last year to have our prices fixed until spring 2014.

i am unable to move due to the fact i am on payment scheme with them and may be moving out soon so can't sign for any contract etc so will have to pay top price for any gas and leccy i use

plus when you sign up for these offers by other companies they want dd payments whch i can't do

There are fixed price deals lasting more than 12 months with other providers that uses lower rates than the planned new BG prices so switch and fix if you can. The trouble is , these companies know the vast majority of customers don't switch

I've just changed from Southeast Gas and Electricity, because the prices are astronomical, onto a fixed rate until Nov 2014. During the time it was being switched they sent me a letter apologising that the prices were going up again. Glad I've changed. £162 to £121 a month.

I am with British Gas (Duel Fuel). I have checked two websites this evening, Compare the market & Money saving market to see if there is a cheaper alternative but I appear to be paying less per unit on both fuels than the quotes they gave me. The standing charge was approx 1 p different. I will now just wait and see.

Yes factor fiction done that already. I also have my own business where we are all electric. I have just given notice to edf and changing to eon it is a yearly event and now for domestic use also.

No point switching, it is the same gas and electricity using the same pipes and wires. If you switch it will only last for a few weeks before the new supplier puts up the price.

I am staying with british gas. I havbe dual fuel with them and have signed a fixed rate contract until 2014.

We are with E-on price fixed until April next year. However we had a phone call from British Gas promising money off and other things, they almost convinced MrAsk to swap back to them as we have Homecare cover with them, half way through the swap back to British Gas they announced the price rises, so he did a U-turn and we are back to E-on. I think it's all swings and roundabouts though.
