When I took my Occupational Pension I had the options to receive a higher sum with no provision for my widow on my death, or smaller pensions with a choice of either one third, one half or two thirds of my pension to my widow.

There was also a guarantee that payment of my pension would be made for a minimum of 5 years after retirement, even in the case of my death, which is conceivably what has happened in Chrissa1's case where the pension payment from her husband's provider has now been halved 3 years since her husbands death.
Thanks, twix.
