Just realised I promised a friend to ask a question for them here and it slipped my mind.

Is someone in England entitled to the Winter Fuel Payment if they have deferred their State Pension ?

On using a web search I found Scottish and Northern Irish websites suggesting that was the case there, but spotted none offering advice for those in England.

Thanks in advance.

I thought it was dependant on age only, not necessarily whether the person is receiving state pension.
If they were born on or before 5th June 1952 they will get the WFP

Thanks both. Had found that page. It seemed to imply pension deferment made no difference even if not explicitly saying so. I'll let them know then. Cheers.
