do banks sell personal details to other banks etc.
I had an email this morning supposed to be from the Leeds building society asking me to join a Talking Point Panel, I do have a very small dormant account with them but I do not do internet banking with them and have not given them my email address,
the email addressed me by my full name and it would only be another bank that should have that information.
I always shred personal papers so I don,t think they got it that way so either some one has stolen my incoming post with personal information or it must be from banking.

No Banks do not sell personal details to anyone. Without seeing the E-mail I would say it is genuine. Leeds do have a Talking Point Panel, which I have joined.
Their email should be addressed to you by name and not 'Dear Customer'
Perhaps you should ask them how they got your e mail address.
