I Sent a chq to nco in august to settle my account during this time they passed my account over to another debt collection agency as they claimed they had not recieved my cq which i believed as it had not been cashed so i sent a cq to the new debt collection agency a month later nco cashed my first cq and now deny any record of it i have spoken to 5 different people including im told the manager i have also sent a letter recorded delivery and still nothing i am now nearly �400 out of pocket and i dont know what else i can do, any suggestions?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Ask your bank for a photocopy of the cheque that NCO cashed, it will have stamps etc on it that should prove where it was paid in - send this to NCO. In fact, get a copy of both cheques and send them both.
I know it's too late now but as soon as they told you they hadn't received your original cheque, you should have asked your Bank to put a 'stop' on it.
