Does anyone how applying for an American Express card works? Do you have to earn a certain amount of money before you can have one? Are they different from normal credit cards? Thanks x

ive heard that they are crap,
for a classic,
you have to payoff you balance at the end of each month, and i think there has been a big decline in their acceptance as they take around 90 days to pay the person that actaully accepts them.

American Express has a lot of different cards.

There used to be only one - a charge card (not credit card) that had to be paid in full each month.

Now they do Visa and Mastercard credit cards which work exactly the same as any other credit card.

The platinum credit card requires an income of �20,000 plus but I haven't looked at all of the cards on offer.
