Uncashed Check

We paid for a camper on the 4th of September and the business deposited the two checks, 1 for $500.00 ( a deposit to hold the camper) and the other for $14,500.00 (final payment for the camper )in payment for the camper into their bank and the funds were put in their account. But the checks have yet to clear our bank. Why would it take two months for a check to clear a bank and how can the money be in the businesses account if it hasnt been taken out of my account?
