I am currently trying my best to sort out my finances as I am looking to get a mortgage. I have got in a real mess and lost track of anything I owe out. Can anyone tell me how I can find out who I owe money to??

You could try getting a copy of your credit file from Experian orone of the other credit reference agencies and see what is registered.

I find it difficult to believe that you can't remember who you owe money to. Do you not get statements / final demands etc? Are you going to conveniently 'forget' about your mortgage (if you manage to get one)?

I've been through hell with my ex so i've had to move and didn't change my address with the companies
The best way to find out who you owe money to is to stop paying your debts. I promise they'll soon find you.
getting experian is your best bet if you have moved and they not traced you then you probably have defaults on your file which makes it hard to get a mortgage - also if you apply for a mortgage and have lots of debts that will be taken into account on how much you can borrow. I think it was about anything over �6k when I got mine however I paid everything off before I applied for mine but didnt have defaults - a friend who already owned a flat with a mortgage got turned down for a second mortgage as she appartently owed a mobile company �100 and that was with over �10k deposit and no debts? they had registered it as a default and she was not aware of it
