I have been separated from my wife for 10 years (not a legal separation) and have inherited my deceased father's house which I live in. I am unemployed. My wife has now got a live-in partner and looks after my 2 daughters. Unfortunately her last business failed and she is now in a Council property, our original house having been repossed. Can I transfer my house into my sister's name to avoid my wife forcing the sale of the house if she divorces me? She has spent all my money on 3 failed businesses.

Think about creating a trust for your children, giving you a life interest in the property - so when you die or sell, the children get the profits.
